The Most Versatile Cilantro Sauce Recipe (Vegan)

Cilantro is my favorite herb and this cilantro sauce recipe is a staple in my kitchen. It takes minutes to make, it’s delicious, and goes with pretty much anything: from veggies and potatoes to fish, meat, and rice. Cilantro is great for clear skin and it’s a potent heavy metal chelator without any of the side effects. This cilantro sauce is truly addictive. You’ll see!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 40g (1.5 oz.) cilantro leaves
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • a tiny bit of chilli pepper
  • a blender

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

It will stay fresh in the fridge for at least a week.

My favorite way to eat it is with crunchy baked potato wedges, just like I showed in the video. The combination is divine. I also love adding it to salad dressing. In my old gluten-filled days I used love eating it with spelt chapatis. If you eat gluten, give it a try!

  1. Sadly (specially knowing its amazing benefits) just tastes like soap to me. Really, soap. I only tolerate in really small quantities and hidden in green curries from my fave Vietnamese and Thai restaurants. I wish I loved it…

    • I use to think that, too. It’s definitely an acquired taste. The weird thing is that I hated it in salads, etc. but then I tried this sauce at an Indian restaurant and since then it doesn’t taste of soap anymore to me. I suddenly love it! 🙂 Hope you’ll find a way to love it as well. xx
