Amazing Skincare Tool That Cost Me Less Than 2 Euros

Amazing skincare tool that cost me less than 2 euros

Today, I’d like to share with you something that I discovered a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been loving it so much. It’s something really simple, cheap and effective. It’s unbelievable!

If you read my blog or watch my videos, you probably already know that I’m a huge fan of the Oil Cleansing Method and I take off the oil using a washcloth. I’ve been cleansing with oils I’d say probably once every two weeks. I’d gladly do it more often but I find that taking off the oil with a washcloth can be slightly irritating and drying sometimes.

A few weeks ago, a viewer asked me if she could use a microfibre cloth instead of a washcloth for the Oil Cleansing Method. I did a bit of a research online, and I found that a lot of people loved it: they said they loved it even more than a muslin cloth or a normal washcloth. So I thought, “Hmmmm, interesting, I have to give it a try!”.

Next time I went to Lidl, which, if you live outside Europe, is a very cheap and amazing German supermarket, I decided to check out the cleaning section. I saw all of the different kinds of microfibre towels or cloths for cleaning the housem but there was one of them that was meant to be used for removing dust and polishing furniture. It was really smooth and soft, it looked very much like suede. This is what it looks like:

microfibre cloth for oil cleansing method

It’s like the cloth that’s used to polish cars after washing, but this particular one was labelled for polishing and dusting furniture. I guess you can try either of them, they will probably be the same thing. You can use it either dry or wet.

I paid something like 1.79 euros for two, so it’s a real bargain. Not only I use it to cleanse the oil off my face when I use the Oil Cleansing Method, but now I also use it instead of a cotton disk with rose water. I just wet it under running tap water and I wipe my face with it.

I also love it because it’s reusable – I can drop it in my washing machine and wash it. I don’t have to throw it away after each use like the cotton disks.

It’s totally transformed my skincare regime. I used to use the Oil Cleansing Method as an occasional treat and cleansed my face using a cotton disk and rose water most evenings and every morning. Since I got this little baby, I’ve just been using this and some tap water. Also, I don’t use plain tap water, my skin would totally freak out if I did. I have a wonderful shower filter that removes all the chlorine.

One more reason why I love this microfibre suede cloth so much is because it takes off all the flakes off my skin so perfectly: it polishes the skin but without exfoliating it. I don’t even know how to explain it, but it totally works. If you suffer from dry flaky skin, you’ll totally understand how annoying those flakes can be. This microfibre cloth takes them al off effortlessly without irritating my super sensitive skin.

If I use the microfibre cloth to take off oils after the Oil Cleansing Method, I put it under hot water, and if I use it just to cleanse in the evening or in the morning without the oil, then I just use cool water. It takes off eye and face makeup perfectly. I can finally enjoy my beloved Oil Cleansing Method every night without having to worry about over-exfoliating my skin.

I have a couple of them and I use each of them for 3 or 4 days, then I just chuck them in the washing machine with the rest of my laundry once a week, and that’s it! One more cool thing about it is that it dries super quickly. I wash it and a couple of hours later it’s already dry, ready for my next wash.

The microfibre suede cloth is definitely my favourite discovery of this year, and you really have to give it a try, too. 1.79 euros for two! What else could you ask for?

If you’ve tried the Oil Cleansing Method and found it too irritating, you have to give this a try! If you’ve tried my Fastest Way To Remove Makeup and found that too much oil remained on your skin and was bothering you or was clogging your skin, you have to try the microfibre suede cloth as well because it will take off all the oil but without scrubbing and irritating your skin.

I know it’s something so ridiculously simple, but it’s so effective that of course I had to share it with you, guys! So I hope you’ll try it and love it as much as i do. Please let me know if you do!

  1. This is lovely, I too have success with microfiber. Need to find one as soft and dense as the one you showed us though. Thanks again for another wonderful sharing! Love you Vita and Family!
