Today, in Part 2 of the Birth Control Series, I’m talking about my experience taking birth control pills and how love turned to hate. At first, I thought they were the best thing that had ever happened to me because they gave me normal periods for the first time in my life, but as the time went by, I came to regret my choice bitterly.
One thing that I forgot to mention in the video is that within a few months of starting birth control pills, my hair colour changed significantly. People started asking me if I’d dyed my hair and I hadn’t dyed my hair for years at that point. My hair used to be warm blonde and suddenly it became much darker and with a very visible copper undertone.
To be honest with you, I was quite in love with my new hair colour and I was blissfully unaware that more copper tones in my hair meant more copper in my body, and more copper meant that my zinc was running low. I wish I’d known how to read my body then.
From nutrient deficiencies and low libido to depression – I wish somebody had shown me a video like this one when I was a teenager to save me from unnecessary suffering.
Hope you find my story helpful, whether you’re on the pill now or you’re considering it. Listen to you intuition, not the industry or the media!
